Satyaprem Ki Katha writer Karan Sharma is currently basking in the success of the movie. In an interview recently, the writer opened up on the movie and the initial idea it stemmed from.

Karan, in a chat with indianexpress.com, said that the initial idea stemmed from his parents. He went on to elaborate and said that he always wondered how his mother sleeps peacefully next to his father who snores so loudly! When he asked his mother this, she replied that she is so comfortable around him that she does not even hear the snoring.

Karan thought it was an interesting premise to begin with and started thinking of reasons why his female lead would not like to sleep next to her husband in the movie. The idea then kind of started building up from there.
On the lead pair’s casting, Karan revealed that he had reached out to Kiara Advani years back and she was keen to take this up in principle, but then the pandemic happened and they lost touch. Eventually, when the script was ready, Kartik was the first to come on board, followed by Kiara. Karan also said that he is elated with the feedback to his movie, though of course, they can’t please everyone.
Satyaprem Ki Katha is directed by Sameer Vidwans and co-stars Gajraj Rao, Supriya Pathak and Shikha Talsania.
