Virat and Anushka, who got married in 2017 in a dreamy destination wedding, have gone on to become one of the most well-known power couples. However, for the longest time, they kept tight-lipped about their love story. In an earlier conversation with former cricketer Ab De Villiers, Virat recalled being named captain for the Zimbabwe tour in 2013. His manager told him that he was going to shoot with Anushka Sharma. As soon as he heard this, he was taken aback.
Virat revealed that the first thing he told her when he saw her heels was, ‘Didn’t you get anything higher to wear?’ and she was like ‘Excuse me?’ According to him, it was said in poor taste since he was nervous. However, he figured out that she was a normal person and when they got talking, he realized their background was so similar. He added that from there on, they became friends and then gradually they started dating.
Elaborating further, he added that it was not like they started dating immediately. They spoke for a long time. Eventually, she found him to be a decent guy. And the rest is history.
Anushka will soon be seen in the movie Chakda ‘Xpress, based on the life of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. It will have a direct to digital release this year.
